LOOS board

Stef de Niet - head of the board

Became in 1993 a board advisor to the Alderman for Finance and Culture in The Hague and participated in two art plans. Worked after military service at the Social Services in The Hague. Is a left, a unionist and was active for the anti-apartheid movement and active against the dictatorships in South America. Hopes as chairman of LOOS, to be able to contribute to not only the continued existence of LOOS, but above all to keep pushing the boundaries in music. Plays tenor saxophone with a passionate expression in his performance.

Hella Prins - Secretary

Music has always been part of her life (but plays her piano only within her own home). Originally lovin’ the “old” jazz she has been developing interest in Scandinavian jazz ever since the first decade of this century.
Worked at the municipality of The Hague during many years in very different positions. She was an advisor to one of the alder(wo)men in the late 90’s and later on coordinated a 5 year’s programme on diversity, integrity and good government at one of the departments (1500 workers). As straight ally she was actively involved in the development of diversity policy at the local governance, among others with the official introduction of raising the Rainbowflag at the Town Hall and along the Hofvijver at Coming-out Day.
Loves to join the board of LOOS because of the conviction that progress in whatever art can only be realised by keeping on (re)searching and developing, giving way and space to those who need these for that goal.
