Ephémère is a series of surprising evenings about temporary and contemporary forms of art. It is one of the finest places for what is important to be presented at that specific moment: electro-acoustic music, experimental, new music, free improvisation, multidisciplinary works, avant garde films, contemporary dance. Ephémère exists for more than six years and is curated by Marie Guilleray. It works as a platform for artists, where the audience can experience art works and performances in a different way than the traditional venues and concert halls. Ephémère aims at supporting the experimental music scene in general, adding diversity in the music scene of The Hague, giving to artists the opportunity to present their works in good conditions to an enthusiastic and focused audience and making a high quality art accessible to everybody.
Sound engineer of Éphémère is Bjarni Gunnarsson.
Éphémère takes at Studio LOOS every second Thursday of the month.
Wonderwerp series at Studio LOOS has been an important platform for promoting independent, avantgarde and experimental music in the Hague for six years now. This year it changes its host once again and will now be co-curated by Kacper Ziemianin and Marcello Ghilardi, however the focus and character of the series will stay true to its origins.
Wonderwerp is not dedicated to any particular style or genre of music and tries to present a wide selection of performers at each concert. Music that can be heard here includes, but is not limited to: live electronics, drone, free improv, noise, sound art, electro-acoustic, etc. To keep it fresh and interesting, at each edition we aim to present international artists as well as local ones. We stay in close contact with the Royal Conservatory of Music in the Hague and the Royal School of Art. Students and graduates from these institutions get opportunity to present their works here.
Starting from September 2015, we will also work in close cooperation with the educational activities of the Studio LOOS and each month one of the performers at the Wonderwerp series will also deliver a workshop on a selected topic.
Wonderwerp takes place at Studio LOOS every 4th Thursday of the month.
Sound engineer of Wonderwerp is Joel Thurman.
Éphémère and Wonderwerp are productions of Studio LOOS which is one of the activities of the LOOS Foundation.
