Ensemble PAMPLEMOUSSE opens up the evening with 6 pieces by the 6 members of the ensemble. This group is doing some of the coolest experiments combining performance practices, instrumentality, and technology, so we're super super excited to have them here in the Netherlands.

OERKNAL opens up the 2nd half with a new piece by Leo Svirsky which takes its influence from James Tenney and Harold Budd. Cindy Giron's new piece for solo piano prepares the instrument w/ various foreign objects, creating a landscape of 'sustained sonorities, mixed with short passing events'. Broekman's piece is for hanging sheets of metal prepared with Bass Shakers/Transducers which the trio will be reacting to and performing with. The cello and trombone from Pamplemousse will set up a drone-like harmonic floor, enveloping the room in a warm embrace.
