Roc Jiménez de Cisneros (1975) is an artist living and
working in Barcelona. He is the founder of the computer
music group EVOL. His work can be understood as an
aesthetic exploration of algorithmic composition and a
deconstruction of rave culture. EVOL music has been
published on record labels like Entr'acte, Mego, Presto!?,
fals.ch or their very own ALKU. Their work has been
exhibited at numerous festivals, clubs, galleries and
museums throughout the world.
"Wormhole Shubz", published by Entr'acte in London in late
2011, was named record of the year by British artist Russell
Haswell. In May 2012 they put out a mix of classic hardcore
for the prestigious FACT MIX series. Some of their recent
installations include: "Continuum Expanded" (in "Sound
Proof 4", London, 2011 and "Sound Spill", Galerie West,
Den Haag, 2012); "Tetralemma + Tetrafluoroethane"
(Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts,
Chicago, 2011); "Rara Avis" (Science Museum of Barcelona,
CosmoCaixa, 2011); "A very short proof of Forester's rigidity
result" (with Mark Fell, premiered at BIACS, Seville Biennial
2008, Istanbul Biennial 2010, Vienna 2011, and ZKM Media
Museum, 2012-2013); "Hands in the air, reach for the laser"
(Diapason Gallery, New York, 2010); "Mentasmic Score for
Wave Field Synthesis System" (premiered in Barcelona,
June 2012).
EVOL forthcoming publications include an LP on Editions
Mego, a tape on iDEAL Recordings, and a tape on Sludge
Tapes, among others.

Rubén Patiño, also known as Pato, works in the field of computer music, an activity he combines with incursions in the installation field. Patiño’s works are characterised by an algorithmic compositional style that is both irreverent and hyperenergetic. He has performed solo across Europe, as well as collaborated with Morten J. Olsen, Roc Jiménez de Cisneros, Olivier Di Placido and Seiji Morimoto. Originally from Barcelona, he is currently pursuing a masters degree in Sonology at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague.
