artistic Residency TRICKSTER
January 22, 2018 – January 27, 2018
TRICKSTER presents: 'Heroines Will Be Killed'
<<<<<<<<<<<< an improvised ‘ad-lib' opera, under construction >>>>>>>>>>>
A preview-work-in-process, perhaps containing a sizeable dose of drama, intertwined with dadaist self-organisation, and inconceivable aria’s by both human-like computer voices and computer-like human singers.
TRICKSTER is currently researching the genre of ‘Opera’ (ad-lib opera to be more precise).
First working research period - Studio LOOS - Den Haag (focus on the sonic). After this research week is completed we will make two public 'work-in-progress' presentations.
Via several residencies throughout the country the performance collective will be working on different components of opera: score, set, libretto and dramaturgy. The final goal is to create an aural and visual ‘spectacle’ in which the medium opera will be deconstructed and traditional ideas about heroism and storytelling will be challenged.
